Instrumentation & Control Engineer – Power Plant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join our team at a combined‑cycle power plant in Dakar, Senegal. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing the plant’s I&C systems to ensure reliable and efficient power generation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and shutdown maintenance on DCS, SCADA, PLC, field instrumentation and control valves.
• Diagnose and resolve control system faults, minimizing downtime.
• Support plant overhauls, commissioning and major shutdown activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve plant performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of I&C maintenance experience in a combined‑cycle or other power generation facility.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HSE practices and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• DCS, PLC and SCADA systems.
• Industrial automation and field instrumentation (analyzers, sensors, control valves).
• Interpretation of I&C schematics, P&ID diagrams and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with CMMS.
• Knowledge of turbine control systems such as Siemens T300 or GE Mark VI.
