Internship – Anti-Human Trafficking & Migrant Smuggling (UNODC)

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Anti‑Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling (TIPSOM) Unit in Dakar. The internship lasts three months and offers hands‑on experience in coordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programmes aimed at strengthening the capacities of West and Central African states.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and revising detailed work plans for programme implementation.
• Support daily execution of programme activities and track progress against deadlines.
• Document programme advances, bottlenecks and collect up‑to‑date information from various sources.
• Help strengthen partnerships with stakeholders and maintain organized filing systems.
• Provide guidance to implementing partners on project documentation and expense reporting.
• Offer administrative support for workshops, training seminars and other anti‑trafficking events.
• Perform any other tasks compatible with the internship duties.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master) in law, international relations, administration, management or communication, or final year of a bachelor’s programme.
• Official proof of enrollment or graduation attached to the application.
• Strong interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter.
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard computer software applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
