Inventory Control Officer

About the role

The Inventory Control Officer ensures the smooth handling, storage, and distribution of materials within the warehouse. This role is key to maintaining accurate records, supporting timely deliveries, and upholding safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials, verifying accuracy and quality.
• Organise and store items in designated locations to keep the warehouse orderly and accessible.
• Pick, pack, and prepare materials for dispatch according to approved requests.
• Assist with regular stock counts and report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
• Load and unload materials during deliveries and returns, ensuring proper documentation such as waybills and transfer notes.
• Coordinate with drivers and courier companies to guarantee timely pickups and deliveries.
• Update stock cards and inventory registers after each transaction and label materials for easy identification.
• Report low stock levels, damaged items, or shortages immediately.
• Follow standard operating procedures, company safety policies, and use protective equipment as required.
• Support administrative tasks, including documentation for inbound and outbound transactions and audit assistance.

• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and discrepancy reporting.
• Responsibility in handling company property and using protective equipment.
