Investment Manager

About the role

FONSIS manages Senegal’s Intergenerational Fund, investing oil and gas revenues for future generations. Reporting to the FIG Executive Director, the Investment Manager will help execute the fund’s strategy across capital markets, infrastructure, private equity and other authorised asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Implement asset‑allocation decisions and contribute to portfolio construction and diversification.
• Identify investments aligned with FIG objectives and monitor economic, financial, sector and regulatory developments.
• Analyse investment finances, strategy and risk; build models, valuations and investment notes.
• Coordinate financial, legal, tax, technical, operational and ESG due diligence where required.
• Support structuring, negotiation and execution with external advisers and transaction stakeholders.
• Monitor financial and operating performance, value portfolio assets and participate in investee governance.
• Oversee delegated managers against mandates, performance expectations and investment policies.
• Prepare investment and periodic reporting for management, the Investment Committee and Board; coordinate risk and portfolio reviews.

Required profile

• At least eight years of relevant investment or asset‑management experience.
• Significant experience in a sovereign or pension fund, asset manager, investment bank, DFI or transaction‑advisory firm.
• Bac+5 qualification in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, Financial Mathematics, Asset Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Excellent spoken and written French and English with strong drafting, presentation and negotiation skills.

• Knowledge of capital markets, asset classes, financial instruments, portfolio construction and asset allocation.
• Understanding of investment structures, financing mechanisms, ESG and governance.
