Irrigation Manager (Relocate to Senegal)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Irrigation Manager to lead water management across a large‑scale oil palm plantation in Senegal. The role focuses on optimizing irrigation efficiency, maintaining water infrastructure, and supporting sustainable production in line with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement modern irrigation and drainage systems for a plantation of 5,000+ hectares.
• Develop irrigation schedules based on weather, rainfall and soil conditions.
• Manage water sources, reservoirs, pipelines, canals and drainage infrastructure to ensure reliable supply and prevent water‑logging.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and oversee the upkeep of all irrigation equipment.
• Utilise water and soil‑moisture monitoring tools and modern irrigation technologies.
• Supervise the irrigation team, contractors and field employees.
• Prepare and manage budgets for irrigation operations and capital projects.
• Collaborate with agronomy and field teams to improve yield performance and ensure compliance with sustainability and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Irrigation, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in oil‑palm plantation irrigation.
• Prior experience working in Senegal or other African countries is an advantage.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale plantations (5,000 ha+).
