Native Language Annotator & Transcriber – Wolof, Pulaar, Serer

About the role

Digital Divide Data is seeking full‑time native language annotators and transcribers for Wolof, Pulaar and Serer. You will listen to audio recordings and accurately convert speech into written form, then label the text and audio with linguistic tags to support machine‑learning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into written text in Wolof, Pulaar or Serer following detailed guidelines.
• Annotate transcriptions with speaker turns, intents, entities and other linguistic features.
• Review and correct existing transcriptions and annotations to ensure consistency and high quality.
• Collaborate with project leads and quality reviewers, meet project timelines and provide feedback on language resources.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native fluency in Wolof, Pulaar or Serer with strong cultural understanding.
• Excellent written communication skills and high spelling, grammar and linguistic accuracy.
• Proven attention to detail and ability to follow complex guidelines.
• Ability to work remotely, manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a structured production environment.

Required skills

• Comfort using computers and digital tools; quick learner of annotation platforms.
• Prior experience in transcription, annotation, linguistics or related language projects is an advantage.
