Operations Associate Director / Director

About the role

IDinsight is seeking a senior operations leader for its West and North Africa region to ensure safe, compliant, and cost‑effective delivery across its Senegal and Morocco offices. The role partners closely with the Regional Director and oversees all internal operational domains.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for WNA Operations and scale the operating model as new offices or workstreams launch.
• Lead operational scoping of potential new geographies, assessing legal, tax, cost, risk and operating models.
• Translate regional priorities into operating plans, service standards and team workflows.
• Represent WNA operations in global leadership conversations and advocate for needed resources.
• Anticipate structural risks and build resilient systems across the footprint.
• Partner with People Operations to drive talent growth, staffing strategy and career pathways.
• Manage the WNA Operations Manager, overseeing recruitment coordination, onboarding and performance reviews.
• Own safety, security and duty‑of‑care systems, including travel risk management and incident‑response readiness.
• Oversee compliance, statutory filings, audit readiness and governance for all legal entities.
• Coordinate procurement in line with IDinsight policies and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Self‑starter with ability to run autonomous workstreams and execute with leadership.
• Experience managing senior‑level operations, compliance, risk and internal systems.
• Proven ability to partner with regional directors and global operations teams.
• Strong people‑management skills, including coaching, performance management and team development.
• Experience in expanding operations into new geographies and establishing legal entities.
• Ability to anticipate risks and build resilient operational processes.
