Operations Specialist (P-3) – Fixed Term – Dakar

About the role

Under the supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Specialist provides technical support to strengthen operations, financial and administrative management across UNICEF West and Central Africa (WCA) country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to WCA country offices on operations, finance and administration.
• Support the implementation of regional and organisational improvement initiatives related to operations.
• Contribute to capability and capacity development activities.
• Act as the technical focal point for the Senegal Common Services and the Cabo Verde Joint Office.
• Carry out any specific tasks requested by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in business management, finance, accounting, public finance or a related field, or a professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA) with active membership.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience at the international level, preferably with UNICEF, in operations management, budgeting, financial management, administrative management, risk and compliance.
• Strong understanding of corporate policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.
