Programme Associate – Economic Empowerment

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Programme Associate to support the Women’s Economic Empowerment Unit in Dakar. Working under the Head of Women’s Economic Empowerment, the associate will assist in programme development, financial management and operational coordination for the Affirmative Finance project.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare work plans, budgets and proposals; provide technical guidance to country offices on programme delivery and reporting.
• Manage financial processes in the Quantum system, including project creation, budget revisions, expense posting and audit coordination.
• Organise logistics for meetings, workshops and missions; handle travel arrangements and briefing materials.
• Support resource mobilisation by preparing cost‑sharing agreements and processing donor information.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, synthesize lessons learned and coordinate training for staff and partners.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education; Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration is an asset.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in finance or programme management/support.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of English or Spanish is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of programme management and financial budgeting.
• Experience with modern web‑based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud.
• Proficiency in Quantum system for project and financial administration.
• Advanced IT skills, including data management and document preparation.
