Programme Finance and Reporting Specialist

About the role

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is seeking a Programme Finance and Reporting Specialist on a temporary professional officer (TPO) basis for an 11‑month contract. The position supports the Integrated Climate Risk Management Programme (AICRM) within the Great Green Wall initiative in the Sahel region, contributing to IFAD’s mission of eradicating rural poverty and addressing climate‑related risks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the financial management of the AICRM programme, including budgeting, allocation of grant resources and monitoring of expenditures.
• Prepare and submit regular financial reports to IFAD, the Green Climate Fund and co‑financing partners.
• Ensure compliance with IFAD financial rules, donor requirements and internal control procedures.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, forecasts and audit documentation for the programme.
• Collaborate with programme managers and external partners to resolve financial issues and improve reporting processes.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in finance, economics, accounting or a related field.
• Experience working with development financing, grant management or climate‑related programmes is desirable.
• Ability to work in an international, multi‑partner environment and adhere to strict reporting timelines.
