Quality and Process Excellence Manager (QHSE)

About the role

A regional QHSE manager is sought to lead the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment agenda across the West and Central Africa cluster, covering current and upcoming markets. The role strengthens the QHSE framework, drives a proactive safety and quality culture, ensures compliance with regulatory and international standards and supports business expansion into new markets. The position is based in Dakar, Senegal, with flexibility within the cluster.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive the regional QHSE strategy, set consistent standards and governance, and coach local QHSE teams
• Lead continuous improvement, set KPIs, build regional dashboards and move beyond compliance to a proactive safety culture
• Run occupational health and safety programmes, risk assessments, incident investigations and site inspections
• Strengthen environmental management, risk assessments and sustainability initiatives
• Set up quality processes, audit programmes and CAPA; support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, certification audits and internal audits
• Integrate QHSE into project planning, manage contractor compliance and support new market entry
• Engage country management, customers, regulators and senior leadership on QHSE performance

Required profile

• 6+ years in QHSE/EHS/SHEQ leadership roles, with experience across multiple African markets
• Preferred: telecom infrastructure, energy, construction or manufacturing background
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and experience with risk assessment, audits and incident investigation
• Proven track record of building QHSE policies and systems, and mentoring regional teams
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Environmental Management or a related field
• French and English are required, especially for Francophone Africa
• HSE/QHSE, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or Lead Auditor certification preferred
