Regional Information Analyst

About the role

The Regional Information Analyst supports the International Committee of the Red Cross by delivering timely, objective analysis of open‑source information that may affect operations, security and acceptance across the Africa region. Working within the global TRAK team, the analyst translates raw data into actionable insights for decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse information from a wide range of open sources on conflict developments, political changes and other relevant trends.
• Collaborate closely with the Africa Regional Management Team, the Regional Hub and field delegations to tailor analyses to operational priorities.
• Validate the credibility of sources, assess data quality and provide contextualised recommendations.
• Anticipate information needs and propose sustainable analytical services aligned with operational demands.
• Participate in cross‑regional research initiatives with the global TRAK team to produce multi‑perspective assessments.

Required profile

• Strong regional expertise and knowledge of local languages and contexts in Africa.
• Ability to assess and validate information objectively, maintaining ICRC’s neutral and independent stance.
• Experience in open‑source intelligence or similar analytical environments.
• Excellent written communication skills for producing concise reports and briefings.
