Regional Internal Auditor - Sahel & Francophone

About the role

MSI Reproductive Choices is looking for a Regional Internal Auditor based in Dakar, Senegal, covering Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Niger, with support to other Francophone Africa programmes where required. The post reports directly and functionally to the Head of Operational & Financial Audit, with a dotted-line link to the host-country director, so that audit planning, scope, conclusions, performance management and professional oversight remain with Global Internal Audit.

The role complements group cyclical audits through risk-based audits, targeted and routine monitoring, follow-up of audit actions and fraud investigations, covering financial, operational, donor compliance and programme risks, and requires regular regional travel. It is a full-time position on a 2-year fixed-term contract, with a gross monthly salary of 1,600,000 to 2,000,000 FCFA depending on experience.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of internal audit experience (practice, Big 4/mid-tier or industry), with a working knowledge of the IIA Standards (essential)
• Experience conducting or supporting fraud and misconduct investigations (essential)
• Experience in Francophone West Africa, the Sahel or similar fragile and conflict-affected settings (desirable)
• Experience in an international, donor-funded service delivery organisation (desirable)
• A recognised professional accountancy or audit qualification (e.g. CA/ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIA)
• Candidates must be unequivocally pro-choice

Required skills

• Fluent French and English
• Planning and scoping risk-based audits and turning key risks into audit procedures
• Walkthroughs, control design assessments and tests of controls
• Data analysis, including CAATs to find trends, anomalies and control exceptions
• Investigative skills such as root cause analysis and fraud indicator identification
• Clear audit and investigation reporting, and stakeholder management with senior management
