Regional People & Culture Director, West Africa

About the role

The Regional People & Culture Director will lead HR strategy and organizational development for VisionFund International’s West Africa cluster (Senegal, Mali, Ghana). Reporting to the Global Director of People & Culture and matrix‑reporting to the Regional Director, you will shape people practices that enable the mission of ending intergenerational poverty through micro‑finance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction, oversight and capacity‑building for the People & Culture function across the three countries.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the Regional Director and the Boards of the MFIs on senior‑management talent decisions.
• Ensure consistency, quality and compliance of HR processes, policies and RACI matrices.
• Develop leadership capability at regional and MFI levels, including executive development programmes.
• Collaborate with Global Centres of Expertise and external networks to strengthen VisionFund’s brand and HR capacity.
• Matrix‑manage People & Culture Managers, fostering a high‑performing, engaged team.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and French (applications in English).
• Extensive senior HR leadership experience, preferably in micro‑finance, nonprofit or development sectors.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives and board members.
• Strong understanding of HR governance, talent management and organizational development in multi‑country contexts.
