Residential Loan Officer – Mortgage Origination

About the role

Associated Bank is seeking a Residential Loan Officer to originate compliant residential mortgage applications and build strong referral networks. The role focuses on delivering tailored loan solutions while ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Originate regulatory‑compliant residential loan applications.
• Develop and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys and other influencers.
• Identify customer needs and match them with appropriate loan programs and bank products.
• Conduct pre‑qualification interviews and explain loan options.
• Monitor loan pipelines, coordinate with processors, and manage timely processing.
• Maintain a lead file, follow up regularly, and convert leads into applications.
• Review applications for compliance with bank, industry and agency guidelines.
• Serve as liaison to local, state and federal agencies and community development groups.

Required profile

• Ability to conduct credit checks in accordance with 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, Truth in Lending, Regulation Z.
• Understanding of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti‑Money Laundering and SAFE Act requirements.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and relationship building.
• Willingness to undergo a thorough background check.
