Risk and Compliance Specialist (P-3) – Fixed Term, Dakar

About the role

Under the supervision of the Chief Risk Management, the Risk and Compliance Specialist will support the Integrated Risk Management team in the UNICEF West and Central Africa Regional Office. The role focuses on strengthening risk management and compliance across programme and operations, ensuring high‑quality risk data and effective partnership management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure risk data quality and integrity across the region.
• Consolidate and analyse regional risk trends to inform decision‑making.
• Strengthen country‑level risk management capabilities and quality.
• Conduct control testing, reviews and support assurance activities.
• Standardise tools, methodologies and monitoring of risk actions across countries.
• Enhance regional risk reporting and early‑warning signals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Financial Management, Development Studies, International Development, Economics, Auditing, Project/Programme Management or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in risk and compliance, programme development/management or internal audit.
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Additional language skills (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish or local languages) are a plus.
