Senegal Project Director

About the role

The AFGHS-FHI 360 Senegal Project Director provides overall leadership, management and strategic direction for the HIV/AIDS and Global Health Security portfolio in Senegal. Reporting to the Program Director, the role oversees implementation, budgeting and stakeholder coordination to achieve project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Direct overall project vision, design, planning and implementation, ensuring goals are met within time and contractual parameters.
• Develop and manage strategic relationships with government entities, implementing partners, donors and other stakeholders.
• Lead the country project team, overseeing performance management, staff development and delivery of high‑quality results.
• Coordinate with AFGHS‑FHI 360 headquarters on work plans, budgets and reporting to USG donors.
• Oversee technical and management reviews, risk mitigation, monitoring and evaluation systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Health, Development, Social Marketing) and preferably a Project Management certification.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of line‑management in large health projects (HIV/AIDS, GHS).
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with governments, donors and community partners.
• Experience managing USG‑funded, fixed‑price contracts and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
