Senior Process Surveillance Engineer

About the role

The Senior Process Surveillance Engineer will support the Operations Contractor on the Sangomar FPSO project in Senegal, ensuring safe and optimized production of oil and gas. The role focuses on process safety, production performance and knowledge transfer to local engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and manage process safety risks in collaboration with the Operations Contractor.
• Perform production optimisation through system capacity, constraints and testing management.
• Support emergent and urgent facility issues.
• Ensure compliance with integrity monitoring processes and manage integrity excursions.
• Provide engineering input for Management of Change activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop action plans for vulnerabilities and opportunities.
• Oversee alarm governance, improvements and implementation.
• Conduct technical reviews to support asset strategic imperatives.
• Respond to technical queries from maintenance, operations and engineering teams.
• Own medium‑term deliverables aimed at improving contractor performance.
• Facilitate engagement with company engineering disciplines, including flow assurance support.
• Drive knowledge transfer and training of Senegalese engineers for succession planning.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in oil and gas process surveillance or similar engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of process safety, production optimisation and integrity monitoring.
• Proven ability to manage change, conduct risk assessments and handle alarm systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to mentoring and knowledge transfer to local engineering talent.
