Senior Research Officer – Nigeria (based in Dakar)

About the role

The Senior Research Officer will support IMPACT Initiatives' research cycles focused on humanitarian needs in Nigeria while being based in Dakar, Senegal. This is a six‑month fixed‑term position starting in October 2026, intended for internal candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor multi‑sector research cycles, ensuring alignment with IMPACT’s methodology and TORs.
• Supervise national and international assessment teams, including training enumerators and managing logistics.
• Coordinate with partners, NGOs and stakeholders to integrate gender, protection and accountability considerations into research design.
• Oversee data collection, cleaning, analysis and validation in collaboration with GIS and data teams.
• Draft, disseminate and evaluate research products, ensuring data security and compliance with IMPACT’s data management guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian or development research, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Ability to travel to Nigeria and work on‑site in Dakar, adhering to security and administrative protocols.
• Strong understanding of gender‑sensitive and protection‑oriented research approaches.
