Shipping Sales Executive

About the role

The Shipping Sales Executive will develop new business opportunities, manage a customer portfolio and convert commercial leads into confirmed bookings for our Dakar agency representing HMM.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across key trades.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of customers and freight forwarders through regular visits and relationship management.
• Handle rate requests, negotiate with Pricing and convert sales leads into bookings.
• Maintain accurate data in the in‑house system and report weekly KPIs.
• Provide market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing trends and local conditions.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Pricing, Operations, Management) to align commercial priorities.
• Support business development through industry events and promote e‑commerce sales.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sales, business development, shipping, logistics or freight forwarding.
• Strong commercial skills with ability to build customer relationships and convert opportunities.
• Experience handling rate requests, negotiations, sales pipelines and KPI monitoring.
• Excellent communication, organization and customer service abilities.
