UX Research and Design Lead, Innovations

About the role

myAgro is looking for a UX Research and Design Lead to drive the creation, testing and scaling of innovative farmer‑engagement tools. The role blends user‑centred design, curriculum development and hands‑on field work to ensure new solutions are grounded in the realities of rural West African farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Create user‑centred designs and engaging interfaces for mobile tools aimed at farmers.
• Organise and conduct field‑based user research, usability testing and iterative design cycles.
• Collaborate with Innovation project managers to define requirements that balance user needs and strategic goals.
• Develop and manage workplans, track progress and report outcomes.
• Own the full research process: planning, interview guides, moderation, synthesis, insight generation and recommendations.
• Co‑create personas, user flows, wireframes and prototypes to communicate concepts.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in UX design, graphic design and design‑systems management for mobile web applications.
• Portfolio that demonstrates design expertise, preferably with projects for low‑literacy or rural audiences in sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments and defining product requirements through rapid experimentation.
