Wolof Language Specialist – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Wolof Language Specialist to join our remote team on a contract basis. The role focuses on high‑quality translation, localization, and content creation between Wolof and English for a variety of projects, including AI language model training.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize diverse content between Wolof and English at an expert level.
• Edit and proofread Wolof materials to ensure clarity, grammatical correctness, and cultural relevance.
• Write original Wolof content that follows project specifications and style guides.
• Provide linguistic feedback to improve AI language models and training datasets.
• Collaborate with project managers, linguists, and engineers to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews to maintain accuracy and consistency across deliverables.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Wolof with deep knowledge of idiomatic expressions and cultural nuances.
• Proven experience in editing, writing, and translating Wolof content.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
