Wolof Medical Interpreter (Remote, Full-time/Part-time)

About the role

We are looking for a fluent Wolof‑English medical interpreter to work 100% remotely. The interpreter will enable clear, accurate communication between patients and healthcare providers in medical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for medical appointments.
• Use correct medical terminology and ensure culturally appropriate communication.
• Interpret via OPI/VRI platforms or scheduled calls as required.

Required profile

• 6 months to 3 years of professional interpretation experience.
• Proven expertise in medical (or legal) interpreting.
• Availability for on‑demand or scheduled appointments.
• Strong listening, note‑taking and memory retention abilities.

Required skills

• Fluency in Wolof and English.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.
• HIPAA‑compliant setup with a wired USB headset that has noise cancellation.
• Internet connection of at least 10 Mbps upload and 20 Mbps download.
