Director of Operations & Engineering

About the role

The Director of Operations & Engineering will lead end‑to‑end operational performance for Helios Towers Senegal. This senior position blends strategic leadership with hands‑on oversight of operations, security, engineering and network operations centres to ensure safe, reliable, customer‑focused and cost‑efficient services.

Key responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence across all tower infrastructure assets in Senegal.
• Oversee security, engineering, and network operations centres to meet safety and reliability standards.
• Champion partner and customer experience excellence, adopting new technologies and processes.
• Lead renewable‑energy transition initiatives, diesel‑reduction projects and digital‑operations strategies.
• Manage service governance, SLA compliance and financial performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; postgraduate qualification desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of operational and engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Background in telecommunications infrastructure, power systems, network operations or other asset‑intensive industries.
• Experience with partner‑led operations models, renewable‑energy projects, and smart operating centres.
• Relevant certifications in engineering, leadership, business management or project management; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt advantageous.
