Field Application Scientist – West Africa (Senegal, Morocco, Congo)

About the role

Pluslife is seeking a Field Application Scientist to support its molecular point‑of‑care diagnostic platforms across Senegal, Morocco and the Congo. You will act as the technical bridge between the company, distributors and end‑users, ensuring successful implementation and high‑quality testing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical training to distributor engineers and application specialists.
• Provide Level 2 technical support and advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software and consumables.
• Assist end‑users with instrument operation, workflow guidance and POC molecular testing applications.
• Coordinate instrument installation, calibration and verification with distributors, both remotely and on‑site.
• Localise and improve training materials, SOPs and user manuals for local language needs.
• Monitor instrument performance through field visits, participate in EQA activities and report data.
• Collect and document issues from distributors and users to inform product and R&D improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of technical support experience in molecular diagnostics, medical devices or point‑of‑care systems.
• Proven experience training distributors; experience in West Africa or resource‑limited settings is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, reagents/consumables and system‑level issues.
• Fluent in English and French with excellent cross‑cultural communication.
• Willingness to travel 50‑70 % of the time.
