Project Manager – Clean Cooking Programme

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation of the Regional Clean Cooking Action West Africa (ReCCAWA) programme in Senegal. Based in Dakar, the role will oversee a two‑year, donor‑funded initiative that aims to expand access to clean, affordable cooking solutions and strengthen market systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the ReCCAWA programme in Senegal.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor all project activities to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery in line with Mercy Corps policies and donor requirements.
• Lead and manage the project team, overseeing financial and operational performance.
• Ensure achievement of technical, institutional and programmatic results.
• Foster collaboration with consortium partners, the Ministry of Energy, private sector, women’s organisations and other national stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the donor and maintain coordination with regional ReCCAWA partners.
• Promote adaptive management, innovation and sustainable market‑system development within Senegal’s clean‑cooking sector.

Required profile

• Fluency in French and proficiency in English.
• Eligibility to work in Senegal (national or resident with independent right to work).
• Willingness to work at Level 2 risk, involving occasional contact with participants and indirect contact with children.
