AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst

About the role

Wave is building a cash‑less Africa and needs a dedicated AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join its Financial Security Team in Dakar. You will investigate alerts generated by the AML monitoring system, help reduce false positives, and support the detection and reporting of suspicious activity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct investigations on alerts from the AML Transaction Monitoring system.
• Enhance alert rules to lower false‑positive rates and prioritize suspicious cases.
• Support the Financial Security Manager in reviewing analyst reports.
• Identify system weaknesses and propose improvement measures.
• Prepare and file suspicious transaction reports.
• Assist in implementing regulator‑issued embargo restrictions.
• Gather and relay information to law‑enforcement and financial intelligence authorities.
• Participate in awareness‑raising and training activities related to financial security.
• Contribute to the generation of financial security reports and dashboard updates for decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Work authorization in Senegal.
• Proficiency in spoken and written French.
• Familiarity with money‑laundering trends and AML investigative techniques.
• Experience investigating complex financial cases.
• Ability to prepare detailed suspicious transaction reports.
