Associate Data Specialist – UN Resident Coordinator Office

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Dakar is seeking an Associate Data Specialist to support the implementation of data collection systems, analytics, and database management that enhance statistical efficiency and quality across the UN development system.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics tools.
• Identify appropriate data sources and new process‑improvement opportunities for analytics projects.
• Analyze trends and patterns using statistical methods on structured and unstructured data.
• Acquire, clean, and maintain data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring quality assurance of UN INFO, CF and related systems.
• Collaborate with internal units, UN funds, programs, specialized agencies, consultants, and external partners to exchange best practices.

Required profile

• Experience working with data engineering, data science, or data analytics teams.
• Proven ability to interact with technical staff, data owners, and subject‑matter experts.
• Strong analytical mindset with capacity to interpret complex data sets.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Head of the Resident Coordinator Office.
