Engineering Project Manager

About the role

GBfoods Africa is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead technical investment projects across its factory network. Reporting to the Engineering & Projects Director, you will ensure projects align with business strategy, deliver on scope, budget, and schedule, and support sustainability and digitisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute technical projects using defined project‑management processes and tools.
• Define technical specifications, request supplier offers, and evaluate them on technical and economic grounds.
• Lead commercial negotiations for technical systems, supported by purchasing when needed.
• Handle project administration, including CAPEX requests, purchase orders, and billing verification.
• Drive continuous‑improvement and waste‑reduction projects, and support operational‑technology issues.
• Design new or modify existing plants to improve environmental impact and energy efficiency, supporting the CO₂‑zero roadmap.
• Participate in cross‑functional project teams and contribute to multi‑year asset performance planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering projects in an industrial or FMCG environment.
• Strong analytical skills for technical and economic evaluation of supplier proposals.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability, and digital transformation.
