Operations & Maintenance Manager – Power Plant

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance planning and execution at the Boto power plant in Senegal. You will ensure reliable plant performance while driving safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance plans, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to prioritize tasks and manage workflow.
• Ensure timely availability of personnel, tools, parts, and other resources for maintenance operations.
• Optimize inventory management for maintenance parts and supplies.
• Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to predict maintenance needs and prevent unplanned downtime.
• Guarantee compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Act as liaison between maintenance, customers, operations, and management to facilitate clear communication.
• Interact actively with customers to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in power‑plant operations and maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong understanding of financial terms and budgeting.
• Proven experience in customer relations and management.
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑engine Wärtsilä gas/HFO engine plants.
• Advanced knowledge of maintenance planning and short‑ to mid‑term operational planning.
