CAD Designer

About the role

Designhawk Innovations is looking for a skilled CAD Designer to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for custom automation systems. You will work on mechanical components, mechanisms, and moveable parts that power robotics and fixed‑automation solutions for manufacturing customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop precise 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design mechanical components such as motors, actuators, grippers, and related assemblies.
• Apply machining practices, tolerances, and material selection to ensure manufacturability.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project teams to refine designs and solve technical challenges.
• Support prototype build, testing, and documentation of design files.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in machining, assembly, automation, or product development.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑changing environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or comparable CAD software).
• Machining knowledge, including CNC, mill and lathe operations.
• Understanding of tolerances and material selection.
• Basic knowledge of electrical panel layout, wiring, and schematic interpretation.
• Familiarity with PLC and HMI programming (optional).
