Communication Officer (Digital)

About the role

UNICEF’s West and Central Africa Regional Office in Dakar is seeking a Digital Communication Officer to support partnership, communication and advocacy initiatives. The role will develop and implement digital content and manage the online community to promote children’s rights across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute community engagement strategies aligned with UNICEF’s regional agenda.
• Manage and grow UNICEF WCARO’s presence on social media platforms, serving as focal point for senior management accounts.
• Create and curate digital content such as social media cards, videos, webinars, and ensure brand consistency.
• Monitor audience interaction, respond to inquiries, and analyze metrics to improve engagement.
• Organize virtual events and webinars to connect with stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience managing social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X).
• Fluency in French and strong working knowledge of English.
• Understanding of children’s issues in West and Central Africa is an asset.
