HME Maintenance Manager (Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are looking for a self‑motivated HME Maintenance Manager on a fixed‑term basis to lead the Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) maintenance function. Reporting to the VP Operations, you will design and oversee lifecycle strategies, ensure high reliability of equipment, and mentor a team of technicians to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives for the HME department and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
• Manage the full maintenance lifecycle of heavy mining equipment, drill rigs, low‑voltage (LV) and ancillary assets.
• Develop and execute preventive and proactive maintenance schedules to maximise equipment availability.
• Coordinate maintenance activities across all sections and collaborate with other departments to achieve mining and production goals.
• Mentor, train and up‑skill the maintenance team, maintaining competency records and succession plans.
• Monitor and enforce safety KPIs, incident follow‑up, and “Just Culture” disciplinary processes.
• Ensure adherence to fatigue management, hydrocarbon spill, fauna dead reporting, occupational health and medical check‑up procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing heavy mining equipment maintenance in a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
• Ability to make sound decisions balancing safety, cost, and equipment reliability.
• Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively across functions.
