HSE Technician – Kolda (Senegal)

About the role

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Technician will support the O&M HSE Manager in promoting a safe working environment for Renvolt employees and subcontractors at sites in Senegal. The role ensures compliance with local and international HSE regulations and drives continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Voltalia Group HSE policies, procedures and documentation locally.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with national and international HSE laws and standards.
• Participate in risk assessments and develop HSE plans, preventive instructions, method statements and checklists.
• Support the creation and execution of emergency response plans.
• Deliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks and emergency drills to workers and subcontractors.
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits and report monthly HSE KPIs.
• Report incidents immediately and lead investigations when required.
• Liaise with official agencies in case of accidents and represent the company in HSE meetings.
• Identify improvement opportunities through audits and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HSE (Master’s degree a plus).
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar HSE role.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of NF C 18‑510 electrical safety, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Training in health & safety, audits, fire‑fighting, first aid and pedagogical methods.
• Excellent understanding of local HSE legislation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in French and English.
