Instrumentation & Control Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) in Dakar, Senegal. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of I&C systems in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of DCS, PLC, field instrumentation, and control valves.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to maximise plant availability.
• Diagnose and resolve control system faults, minimizing downtime.
• Support plant overhauls, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise overall plant performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of I&C maintenance experience in a CCPP or similar power generation facility.
• Fluent English (mandatory); French is a plus.
• Strong adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
• Proven competence with GE Mark VI and Mark VIe systems.
• Experience with field instrumentation, analyzers, sensors, and control valves.
• Ability to interpret I&C schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
