Junior System Administrator – Fixed Term

About the role

We are looking for a Junior System Administrator to join our IT team on a fixed‑term basis. The role will support the growing IT infrastructure at our Dakar office, ensuring timely and reliable service for end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain company IT systems, ensuring integrity and security of hardware, servers, networks and applications.
• Provide first‑level support to end users, troubleshoot incidents and verify that solutions restore full operation.
• Document network and infrastructure designs, maintain an inventory of hardware assets with serial numbers, locations, warranties and service schedules.
• Generate regular reports on server performance, storage usage, firewall, UPS, wireless network and software update status.
• Educate users on acceptable IT policies and flag any deviations to senior IT staff.
• Follow company health, safety and environmental procedures and participate in risk assessments.

Required profile

• Formal vocational or university training in information technology (minimum BAC+3).
• At least 1 year of experience in a production, operating or support environment.
• Ability to analyse problems methodically, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of system administration, network fundamentals and hardware inventory management.
• Familiarity with reporting tools and documentation practices.
• Understanding of IT security policies and basic health‑and‑safety standards.
