About the role

Georgetown University is seeking a full‑time Landscape Gardener II to join its Facilities Management team. The role involves maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of the university’s two campuses, ensuring that lawns, flower beds, and tree areas remain healthy, safe, and inviting for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine mowing, trimming, edging, and weed removal across campus grounds.
• Operate irrigation systems, apply mulch, and revitalize flower beds and tree saucers.
• Lay sod, assist with pesticide applications, and conduct seasonal landscape tasks.
• Respond to service requests, preventive maintenance needs, and emergency situations such as storm‑drain issues.
• Use standard landscaping tools and equipment while adhering to all safety regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1‑3 years of grounds or landscape maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate pickup trucks, tractors, skid‑steer loaders, and all‑terrain vehicles.
