Operations Specialist – Fixed Term – Dakar, Senegal

About the role

Under the supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Specialist will provide technical support to strengthen operations, financial and administrative management across UNICEF West and Central Africa (WCA) country offices, with a focus on Senegal and Cabo Verde.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to WCA country offices on operations, finance, and administration.
• Support the implementation of regional and organisational improvement initiatives related to operations.
• Contribute to capability and capacity development activities.
• Act as the technical focal point for the Senegal Common Services and the Cabo Verde Joint Office.
• Perform any specific tasks requested by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in business management, finance, accounting, public finance or related fields, or a professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA) with active membership.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience at the international level in operations management, budgeting, financial management, administrative management, risk and compliance, preferably with UNICEF.
• Strong understanding of corporate policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.
