Operations Specialist

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Operations Specialist to support its regional offices in West and Central Africa from Dakar, Senegal. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will provide technical assistance to strengthen operations, financial and administrative management across country offices and contribute to strategic initiatives that improve fiduciary risk management and resource utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to WCA country offices on operations, finance and administration.
• Assist in the implementation of regional and organisational improvement initiatives related to operations.
• Contribute to capability and capacity development activities for staff.
• Act as the technical focal point for the Senegal Common Services and the Cabo Verde Joint Office.
• Perform any specific tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in business management, finance, accounting, public finance or a related field, or a professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA) with active membership.
• Minimum five years of professional experience at the international level, preferably with UNICEF, in operations management, budgeting, financial management, administrative management, risk and compliance.
• Strong understanding of corporate policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.

Required skills

• Ability to analyse performance indicators and transactional data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with multiple stakeholders across countries and functions.
