Programme Coordinator (Head of Pillar) – Temporary

About the role

The Programme Coordinator (Head of Pillar) will be based in the Regional Office for West and Central Africa (ROSEN) in Dakar, Senegal. This temporary position supports the implementation of UNODC programmes across the region and reports directly to the Deputy Regional Representative and the Regional Representative.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the pillar’s programme activities in line with UNODC strategic objectives.
• Maintain close liaison with relevant substantive sections at ROSEN and UNODC headquarters, especially the Division for Operations in Vienna.
• Prepare and present regular reports on programme progress, challenges and results.
• Facilitate communication and cooperation among partners, stakeholders and internal units.
• Support the planning, budgeting and monitoring of programme activities.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in a field related to programme management, public administration, or a comparable discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating international or regional programmes.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to interact with senior UN officials.
