Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the development, integration and management of road crash data systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, deployment and operationalisation of integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection methodologies, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure databases into a unified crash data platform.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards and road‑safety analytics methodologies.
• Develop digital dashboards, reporting tools and road‑safety monitoring systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality through validation mechanisms and support evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, technical training and capacity‑building activities on crash data systems and analytics.
• Contribute to monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs related to road‑crash data management and safety performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems, data interoperability and digital monitoring platforms.
• Proven experience on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
