Supply Chain Manager

About the role

The Supply Chain Manager reports to the General Manager and provides strategic direction for procurement, warehousing, logistics and inventory control to ensure uninterrupted, cost‑effective mining operations. This senior position oversees commercial contracts, working capital optimisation and the implementation of best‑in‑class supply‑chain practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement processes, from supplier identification to delivery, and resolve non‑conformance and payment issues.
• Develop and execute strategic and tactical supply‑chain plans aimed at reducing operating and capital costs.
• Maintain an approved supplier list, support internal customers with material requirements and ensure compliance with corporate purchasing policies.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators, manage the procurement and inventory budgets, and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Oversee warehousing and site logistics, ensuring daily inventory accuracy, proper receiving procedures and timely cycle‑counting.
• Handle supplier complaints, conduct root‑cause analysis of non‑compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Promote local content by developing a procurement plan that increases market share for local and national companies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement and supply‑chain functions, preferably within a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial contract governance, working‑capital management and budget control.
• Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure material availability.
• Experience in developing and monitoring KPIs and driving continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory and procurement management.
