Wolof Language Expert – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a native or near‑native Wolof speaker to help train next‑generation AI systems. Working remotely, you will provide high‑quality translation, localization, and linguistic feedback that will improve how AI models understand and generate Wolof content.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize diverse content between Wolof and English at an expert level.
• Edit and proofread Wolof materials for clarity, grammar, and cultural relevance.
• Create original Wolof content following project guidelines.
• Provide linguistic feedback to enhance AI language models and training datasets.
• Collaborate with project managers, linguists, and engineers to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain clear written and verbal communication to resolve linguistic queries.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Wolof with deep knowledge of idiomatic expressions and cultural nuances.
• Proven experience in editing, writing, and translating Wolof content.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Effective time‑management and task‑prioritisation in a deadline‑driven setting.
