Agricultural Value Chain Supervisor

About the role

The Agricultural Value Chain Supervisor will coordinate project operations and nurture partner relationships to ensure inclusive performance across agricultural value chains managed by agCelerant in Senegal. Reporting to the Director, the role combines field supervision, stakeholder mobilisation, and performance monitoring to drive adoption of good agricultural practices.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of field extension agents and youth incubated as agents.
• Provide technical advice, continuous training, and organisational support to improve producers’ adoption of best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate agents’ performance through the agCelerant supervisory cockpit.
• Mobilise local stakeholders, prospect suppliers and third‑party service providers.
• Conduct participatory evaluations with producers and support transaction monitoring between producers and value‑chain actors.
• Develop programme visibility among producers and stakeholders.
• Produce weekly activity reports and monthly inventory of campaign status by production zone.
• Track performance indicators and participate in coordination meetings with agCelerant management.

Required profile

• Experience implementing training programmes in rural areas.
• Background in agricultural value‑chain development.
• Ability to manage a team of several dozen colleagues.
• Capacity to work independently while meeting reporting deadlines.
• Motivation to be regularly present in the field.
• Fluency in Wolof and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard information‑technology tools (e.g., office software).
