Social and Tax Justice Campaigner

About the role

The Campaigner will support the strategic planning and execution of Greenpeace Africa’s Fair Share campaign, using evidence‑based, data‑driven approaches to address progressive taxation, resource distribution and socio‑economic inequalities across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in developing and implementing the Fair Share project strategy and proposals.
• Coordinate with Project Co‑Leads and the Fundraising team to maximise campaign impact and fundraising potential.
• Engage key stakeholders—including governments, businesses, lawyers, farmers, media and civil society—to deliver responsive interventions.
• Monitor socio‑economic trends, analyse data and adapt campaign plans accordingly.
• Represent Greenpeace at meetings, coordination bodies, media events and community forums.
• Collaborate with Communications and Research teams to create briefings, updates and data‑driven insights.
• Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation processes for the Fair Share project.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Policy, Development or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in campaign management and coordination, preferably in an international, multicultural environment.
• Strong understanding of progressive taxation, revenue redistribution and socio‑economic inequality.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate, build consensus and facilitate dialogue among diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with the full project management cycle.
