About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and seeks a proactive Internal Auditor to ensure compliance, efficiency and risk management across its rapidly scaling operations. Reporting to the Audit Committee, you will lead audit missions, investigate irregularities and promote a culture of accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive internal audit plan aligned with company objectives and risks.
• Conduct audits of financial, operational and compliance processes, identifying control weaknesses and recommending improvements.
• Investigate suspected fraud or misconduct, prepare reports and coordinate with legal authorities as needed.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations and action plans for management.
• Monitor regulatory changes in the WAEMU region and ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws.
• Recommend process enhancements and foster internal control awareness throughout the organization.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in risk management, internal audit or related functions within a bank or financial institution.
• Secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business & Economics or a comparable field.
• Fluent in French and English, with proven experience in an international environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience investigating technical issues.
