Cash & Voucher Assistance Adviser (Bilateral)

About the role

The British Red Cross is seeking a Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Adviser to provide strategic, technical and operational support to National Societies in Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Chad and Nigeria. Based in Dakar, the adviser will help integrate CVA into bilateral and multilateral programmes and implement recommendations from recent CVA evaluations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical guidance on designing, implementing and scaling CVA programmes.
• Support national societies in operationalising the International Strategy 2025‑2030.
• Monitor and evaluate CVA activities, ensuring compliance with IFRC standards.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity‑building across the Sahel+ network.
• Coordinate with BRC Africa team and external partners to align CVA interventions with broader humanitarian objectives.

Required profile

• Experience working on cash and voucher assistance in humanitarian contexts.
• Strong understanding of IFRC policies, safeguarding and accountability frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple national societies and regional teams.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills in English.
