Communication and Media Adviser – Regional Office

About the role

The Regional Communications and Media Adviser supports West and Central Africa, developing and implementing the regional communications strategy, and providing strategic communications support to country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage a regional communication and public advocacy strategy aligned with UNFPA priorities.
• Coordinate media activities for regional events, prepare key messages, statements and briefing materials.
• Oversee the regional website, ensuring timely and accurate content.
• Provide strategic guidance to country offices on public relations, media outreach and capacity building.
• Monitor media trends, design media relations plans and maintain media contact databases.

Required profile

• Experience in strategic communications, media relations and public advocacy within an international development context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with regional management, country offices and global communication networks.

Required skills

• Strong writing and editing skills for press releases, statements and briefing documents.
• Experience managing website content and producing multimedia communication materials.
