Communication & Multimedia Officer – West Africa Regional Office

About the role

The Research Center is seeking a Communication & Multimedia Officer to join its West Africa Regional office in Dakar, Senegal. The role will strengthen the visibility and policy impact of the Center’s work across West and Central Africa by turning complex scientific evidence into accessible, compelling content.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement the office’s communications and visibility strategy.
• Draft and edit press releases, blog posts, website content, newsletters, and social media messages in French and English.
• Produce high‑quality multimedia assets, including end‑to‑end video production, photography, infographics, data visualisations, animations, motion graphics, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Design printed and digital materials such as brochures, banners, reports, and branded merchandise.
• Adapt content for platforms like LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and newsletters.
• Assist with webinar production, media kits, press inquiries, and stakeholder event support.
• Maintain multimedia archives and coordinate with external vendors when needed.
• Collaborate closely with researchers, program teams, and HQ Policy, Engagement, and Communications teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Arts or a related field.
• Additional certification and portfolio in photography, videography, digital storytelling or multimedia production.
• 3‑5 years of professional experience in communication, multimedia production or digital media.
