About the role

The National Consultant will act as the principal rapporteur for an African and global sub‑regional closing meeting on dental amalgam elimination, scheduled for October 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. The role involves producing a complete set of publishable documents, including a final meeting report, a press release, and professional photographic coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and deliver a press release by the end of the first day of the meeting.
• Coordinate and capture official group photography with branding on day one.
• Provide professional photographic coverage of sessions, speakers, and group work throughout the event.
• Prepare a real‑time structured note‑taking system and pre‑meeting drafts.
• Write an analytical meeting report (max 25 pages) summarizing key messages, recommendations, and next steps.
• Supply final deliverables in PDF, editable Word, InDesign (or equivalent) layout files, and high‑resolution photos with proper credits and captions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in technical writing for international conferences or policy meetings.
• Proven ability to produce press releases and high‑quality documentation under tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills to manage real‑time reporting and multi‑format deliverables.
• Familiarity with public health, environmental, or mercury‑related projects is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign or equivalent layout software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word for editable documents.
• Creation and handling of PDF files for final publication.
